Heritage Supports Millennials for Change Programme

Heritage Insurance joined hands with Kenya Women Holding in supports of its Millennials for Change Programme which seeks to provide mentorship and soft skills to youth in readiness for employability and career growth.

The program is designed to focus on navigating the transition of Millennial in preparation for the employment sector, succeeding completion in their tertiary education. It targets to influence 100 girls during the mentorship sessions by empowering them with the capacity to critically rethink and identify their goals, while breaking down negative messages fed to them by society and the media.

The programme attracted sponsorship from leading corporate organisations through a Charity Golf Tournament dubbed Charity Golf Jamboree that took place on Friday 1st December at the Muthaiga Golf Club.

Some of the activities that the attendees were taken through include Zumba and Salsa session, cook off competition, inter-workplace challenge and the wellness clinic that offered free counseling and HIV/AIDS testing on ground.

Heritage Insurance Managing Director Godfrey Kioi lauded Kenya Women Holding for coming up with such an initiative and stressed on the need for women to have equal social status in the society. His sentiments are backed by a United Nations research that shows that businesses that promote women empowerment and gender equality are more profitable.

The Millennial for Change Programme curriculum exposes the crisis’ adolescent teens are facing in the society, from dynamic backgrounds. It also recognizes the need for positive self-image and devises a sense of awareness and access to resources.

Kenya Women Holding through its members has been a valued client of Heritage Insurance and this programme is an affirmation of a solid partnership that the two organisations have had for many years.
